Map: Anzio
Final Score: [*BGF*] 5 (101) - 5 (80) DA-UK
Map: Argentan
Final Score: [*BGF*] 2 (32) - 2 (35) DA-UK
The scores say it all. This was a hard-fought close-run tie! DA-UK had an excellent game on both maps but [*BGF*] tenacity shone through and, especially on Argentan when they had us on the ropes for a fair bit, we managed to hold onto our slither of a lead.
Anzio was a quite a flag-capping frenzy for both teams as both Axis and Allies, with sneaky manoeuvres and hard-fought pushes alike.
Axis:

Allies:

Argentan was a much tighter affair but DA-UK clinched it with a superb quick-round full-cap!
Axis:

Allies:

Thanks for another intense game DA-UK... excuse me while I go lie down...
P.S. woman of the match goes to Pussycat, for some excellent MG work.

Map: Kalt
Final Score: [*BGF*] 0 (38) - 1 (32) Catch-22
Map: Anzio
Final Score: [*BGF*] 9 (127) - 0 (62) Catch-22
Well this was a first for us: two consecutive maps on the same night comprising one hell of a match evening! We played Kalt and Anzio, each with two halves, 15 mins a piece.
Kalt was a brilliant contest, very close from start to finish with the bridge swapping hands regularly and intense fighting both above and below ground! Catch-22 came out on top with a very well synchronised break-through full-cap playing as Axis and we failed to answer. As a whole both teams were much stronger as Axis, a theme that was followed in the next map.
Axis:

Allies:

Anzio was a very different story and a pleasant surprise for us after such a disappointing result on Kalt. We very quickly dominated the map as Axis and nearly averaged 1 full-cap every 2 minutes! Catch-22 answered in the second-half with a swift rebuttal and we failed to match the momentum we gathered in the first half. Nonetheless we managed two more full-caps as Allies but narrowly prevented Catch-22 from capitalising on their renewed aggression on several occasions.
Axis:

Allies:

Two very good games from Catch-22 in which I think both teams learnt something and we look forward to playing them again in the near future.
Man of Match has to go to Wolfsangel this time for doing the dirty work and sticking to it on both maps.

vs OAP, 23rd November 2008
Posted by [*BGF*]George on Sunday 30 November 2008
Final Score: [*BGF*] 1 (41) - 1 (56) OAP
Map: Donner
The scoreline shows it all really - an amazingly close game and hard-fought game where both full-caps were scored in the first half with [*BGF*] as Allies and OAP as Axis. With only two points separating the two teams at half-time, OAP came out all-guns blazing and played a very good game as Allies in which we only managed to break their hold of the tank a couple of times.
Allies:

Axis:

My man of the match goes to Troya for capping lots of flags for us and holding essential parts of the map against multiple enemies.
As usual, thanks for the game and very well played OAP!

vs HG, 16th November 2008
Posted by [*BGF*]George on Sunday 16 November 2008
Final Score: [*BGF*] 4 (27) - 2 (72) HG
Our first friendly with HG proved a mighty challenging match and test for our new team. Both teams played an aggressive game and as Axis we managed to get 3 full-caps despite constant pressure from HG. In the 2nd half HG managed to keep us pushed back to our last 2 flags for much of the round, scoring their 2 full-caps as Axis. [*BGF*] managed 1 breakout that resulted in a full-cap and gave us a comfort zone to defend from.
Axis:

Allies:

Thanks for the thrilling match HG!
The [*BGF*] man of the match goes to Wolfsangel who had the most consistent performance.

Final Score:
[*BGF*] 1 (32) - 6 (110) [/|\]
Well it's been a long break from any matches for [*BGF*] so we knew a PCW with Asylum (/|\) would be a bit of a shock to the system. The map was a last-minute decision of Argentan and proved quite good fun to-ing and fro-ing and clinging on to the last flag for dear life.
We knew we'd be out-classed but we put up a stiffer fight than we hoped for and, starting as Axis, we even full-capped once... which we were rather chuffed about :p The first half proved tough as Axis and although we were usually on the back foot we did push back and made that aforementioned cap.
We started confidently in the second half as Allies and managed to make a couple of good attempts at their final flag but we spent most of the time holding them off from capturing our last and we were happy to have only conceded 3 full-caps.
Axis:

Allies:

Man of the match goes to Monkey-Boy tonight, who did an amazing job storming through the enemy and capturing flags, especially as Axis. Well done to everyone though for putting up an excellent fight, and another special mention should go to Pussycat who did a very good job of protecting our final flag as Allies.
We look forward to another match against Asylum, hopefully when we're a little more prepared! :-)

vs rD, 1st April 2007
Posted by [*BGF*]George on Sunday 1 April 2007
Final Score:
[*BGF*] 5 (130) - 1 (104) [rD]
Jagd is notorious for requiring staunch teamwork and coordination in both defence and attack and it lived up to its reputation tonight. Both teams fought extremely hard and if the attacking was tough the defending was even tougher.
We started as Allies and were immediately put on the back foot by brilliant teamwork from rD but we managed to hold on to the last objective by the skin of our teeth. Next round we defended a lot better and didn't let them get through our lines but the last round was another close one and we were beginning to wonder whether we'd be able to hold on. Thankfully we managed to hold both the tank and halftrack and came through the first half 3 - 0 up.
We were convinced it would be a similar score line the next half but we maintained the pressure throughout our first attacking round and in the last minute we manage to get a win as Axis. rD bounced back in the next round and held their line but a blitz of the objectives in the third left us with 2 wins as Axis. Spirits high we went into the last round and the hardest fighting yet was seen and but for 5 more seconds on the timer we would have come away with a 3rd win as Axis.
Allies:

Axis:

Man of the match is pretty easy tonight, Jimmywit played an awesome game, blowing a great deal of objectives as Axis and saved the day on a number of occasions as Allies, with MG and Pistol in hand.
Very very good game to everyone tonight, Jagd is a tough map but excellent fun for teamwork. Well played rD, hope to have another re-match shortly.

Final Score:
[*BGF*] 2 (96) - 0 (41) [rD]
An excellent hard-fought match on Kalt ended in a score that belies how close it really was.
We started as Allies and in the first half the Bridge changed hands many times and rD slowly edged ahead on points before we managed to establish control. A beautifully coordinated strike by deegy, Houndog and c0nn0r scored our first full-cap. We kept rD under heavy pressure for the rest of the half but some gritty defending meant we couldn't capture a second time.
We found ourselves in control of the map much earlier as Axis in the second half but rogue rD making their way behind our lines and cutting our lines meant everytime we tried pushing forward we found ourselves on the back foot again. On a number of occasion we were down to our last flag and only by steadfast control of the our half of the map did we prevent them from stealing a full-cap. Most of the action occurred about the bridge and they held it from us for a long time at one point before we could wrestle it from them, Dodo and Barnes's nades proving indispensable! A very sneaky full-cap by George gave us the comfort zone we needed and we spent the rest of the game pushing for a third as our spirits were high.
Allies:

Axis:

Fantastic game by everyone and a special mention should go to Zoot who was playing his first match with the [*BGF*] tag and did a fab job, especially as Allies. Also, thank you to Barnes who joined in when first rD was short on players and then joined us when we needed the extra man.
Man of the match is a very tough one this time round as everyone played equally well and all played their important roles and I'd love to name more than one player... but [*BGF*]c0nn0r worked extra hard tonight and was always in the right place at the right time to provide support or a blinding dash for the flag and deserves the title.
Again, congratulations to everyone and thank you once again to rD for a very enjoyable, well played match.

Final Score:
[*BGF*] 1 (77) - 1 (56) [rD]
This match was set to be a good 'un as our previous match was called off with everything still to play for, and both teams were rearing to go.
We started as Allies and the bridge must have switched hands half a dozen times, with hard fighting on all quarters of the map at all times. They finally pushed us back all the way to our last and made a successful full-cap around half-way through the round. Within minutes afterwards they nearly did it again, but we pushed back hard and the rest of the round was spent on the attack and we enjoyed a couple of near-chances at a full-cap before the first half was over.
We played a much more aggressive and fluid game as Axis and very early on, following a magnificent set-piece monkey-boy managed to full-cap. We spent the rest of the match desperately try to consolidate our score with another full-cap but only managed to keep them hemmed-in on their side of the map, securing a victory on points in the end.
Allies:

Axis:

Man of the match tonight goes to monkey-boy who "played a blinder" in the words of deegy. Good game to everyone, it was an exciting game and could have gone either way at the drop of a hat. Another rematch is definately in order in the future.

vs HJ, 9th October
Posted by [*BGF*]George on Monday 9 October 2006
Final Score:
[*BGF*] 3 (+56) - 2 (+30) HJ
We anticipated a hard-fought match on this one and we weren't disappointed. Despite HJ being down to only 5 men they wanted to go ahead with the match anyway and enlisted [*BGF*]Pussycat and Deegy to make it 7 v 7.
The match started with Hell Jumpers as Allies but a very early break nearly resulted in us being 1 up right from the first minute, but HJ were quick to rally against us and after a great deal of intense fighting around the middle they went on to control the tank. Probing our defences and keeping us from the recapturing the tank it was only a matter of time before they were poised to capture our flags; the surgical strike was made when we least expected it and the score was 0 - 1 to Hell Jumpers.
The story of the first half was of a desperate fight for the tank with very few forays far into enemy lines. The first half finished with HJ one up on full caps and the score otherwise pretty close.
The match opened up wide in an explosion of exciting play in the second half. HJ took the upper hand, capturing the tank from the start but a BGF counter-attack returned control to Allies hands and the persuit of a BGF full-cap began in earnest. Houndog was on top form with the Sniper rifle and under his covering fire mad dashes from El Capitan and c0nn0r opened up the oppurtunity for our first full cap with Aruki, Senser and Dirty Harry pressing home the advantage. Not wanting to lose any momentum we clashed head-on with HJ right from the start of the round and had them on the back foot. Despite some amazing shooting and defensive work from many HJ players we got a lucky break and managed to full-cap again under a hail of bullets.
Now our enthusiasm was coarsing through our veins but HJ weren't prepared to roll over and give us the match: an excellent run from HJ|tc took us completely by surprise and while we were attempting to recapture the tank he full capped to score one more for HJ. Sobering up, we played a solid run of play and a text-book moment of teamwork from Harry and El Capitan scored us a final full cap, only minutes from the end of the match.
At no point did we find it a walk over and it would probably have been an even harder fought match if HJ had their full 7, but a special applause should go to Deegy and Pussycat for showing us no quarter and probably enjoying killing their fellow clan-mates in the name of fair play.
Axis:

Allies:

Very good game to all the member of HJ and congratulations to all members of [*BGF*] for an excellent performance. Special mention should go to Aruki and Dirty Harry who lost their clan match virginity and are now fully fledged member of [*BGF*], well done guys.
Man of the match is a tough one this time as everyone played so well and it was a great team effort, but I feel no one did more than [*BGF*]El Capitan in killing the enemy, defending our flags and capturing the enemy's. Well done everyone.

Posted by [*BGF*]George on Wednesday 16 August 2006
Final Score:
[*BGF*] 0 (+51) - 3 (+61) {E.F.F}
Unfortunately we had to start the match two men down but despite this took early control of the match as Allies and were close to full-capping on a couple of occasions but they rallied against us and in the closing minutes of the first round dominated the match, and consequently got the first full-cap of the match.
[*BGF*]c0nn0r came to our aid to make us only one man down but it wasn't enough and in the second round {E.F.F} took firm control of the match and, apart from one or two breaks, we struggled as Axis.
It may have been different story if we had a full team (despite only being a man down we were often two men down due to various PC crashes), at least as Allies where we showed some good teamwork, but {E.F.F} played well in the second round and thoroughly deserved the two caps they achieved while we desperately tried to both defend offer some counter-attack as Axis.
Allies:

Axis:

Man of the match goes to [*BGF*]deegy[no-life2] who proved his worth as an all-purpose killing and capping machine!
Good game and hope to have a re-match again in the near future.

[*BGF*] 0 (+43) - 1 (+109) [OAP]
A close-run match saw OAP come out on top despite fierce resistance and despite us being a man down for most the duration of the Allies round (damn Telewest!)
Scores as Allies:

Scores as Axis:

My player of the match would have to go to [*BGF*]Scorpion who fought particularly hard to control the flags and push forward.
No doubt we'll be expecting a re-match soon!
